01
Complete beats plentiful
Seafood protein carries all nine essential amino acids in proportions the body absorbs readily, which is why it scores high on the digestibility scales nutritionists use. A larger number from a less complete source does less for you.
02
Ask where it came from
Coatings, binders and added protein powders all count toward a total. They are perfectly legal and perfectly common, and they mean the figure on the front is not describing the seafood alone. Ours is one ingredient, so it is.
03
Weight is not always food
Frozen seafood often carries a protective ice glaze, and brine keeps water in the pack. Both are weight you carried home. Worth checking for a net or drained figure on anything you compare — including us.
